If Contiki were a person, it would be way too old to go on one of its own tours. The company, which taesk 18 to 35 year olds to tourist hotspots around the world, has been in business since 1962.

The secret to is continued success has been knowing what young people want from a travel experience.

So, it should come as no surprise that the company undertakes market research such as its recent No Regrets list of destinations, based on a survey of 5,000 millennial students worldwide.

The number one destination was the Blue Lagoon in Iceland, followed by the Pyramids of Giza in Egypt, the Great Wall of China and the beaches of Byron Bay in northern New South Wales, Australia.

Other desired experiences included making pizza in Italy, kissing atop the Eiffel Tower in Paris, sailing on a gondola in Venice and going on a road trip in the United States.

I may not be a millennial — I’m the same generation as Contiki itself — but they all seem like reasonable travel choices no matter how young or old you are.
