At the opening of Brisbane's Gallery of Modern Art last night, I found it very difficult to find a drink of the non-alcoholic or calorie-laden kind. Some of the huge bench bars had nothing but bubbly and many of the waiters had only beer and wine on their trays. I realise a lot of people like to have alcohol at this kind of event - and I'm usually among them - but I think the State Government should show some leadership here when it comes to serving healthy choices at its own venues.
This morning a crew from Channel 9's Extra program is filming me for a segment about my weight loss and fitness program to be aired next year - when, hopefully, I can report some great results.
According to the scales at the gym, I am now 9kg lighter than I was when I first weighed-in at my doctor's three weeks ago. Of course, I expect my weight to fluctuate, and the losses to slow down, but I'm fairly pleased with my progress so far.
I had a fairly rigorous session at the gym this morning, but that's not what has me worried. It was when I pulled the still-damp-with-sweat T-shirt out of my bag this afternoon and realised that I'm starting to smell like a gym junkie.
