Hollywood's obsession with body size is totally out of control, and quite destructive for the people it envelops. Christina Ricci, an actress I would never describe as fat, is blaming her weight for her lack of starring roles. "I know that had I been thinner at the time when my indie movies were hitting, I could've been in a much better position in my career," she said in an interview about her latest film, Black Snake Moan. Thankfully, she added, "but I kind of like where I am."
PS: Ricci's name is also attached to a film called The White Rose, which appears to be a Hollywood adaptation of the excellent (and disturbing) German film, Sophie Scholl - Die letzten Tage.
PPS: I once had lunch with Ricci and her mother, during a trip to Brisbane to promote one of the Addams Family films. That's not at all relevant to this item; I just thought I'd throw it in.
